Questions one and three failed to pass in the special election held Tuesday, June 27, 2006.Question 2 was approved. Here are the results:
Question 1 - Public Safety Facility - Yes: 1069 No: 1369
Question 2. - Land acquisition - Yes: 1310 No: 1127
Question 3. - equipment - Yes: 1136 No: 1291
Question No. 1
Shall the Town of Westport be allowed to exempt from the provisions of proposition two and one-half, so-called, the amounts required to pay for the bonds issued in order to construct, originally equip and furnish a new public safety facility?
Question No. 2
Shall the Town of Westport be allowed to exempt from the provisions of proposition two and one-half, so-called, the amounts required to pay for the bonds issued in order to acquire land, or interests in land, for the purposes of open space, recreation, conservation, agricultural preservation and protection of environmental resource areas?
Question No. 3
Shall the Town of Westport be allowed to exempt from the provisions of proposition two and one-half, so-called, the amounts required to pay for the bonds issued in order to purchase and install departmental equipment and computers, remodel and make extraordinary repairs to Town facilities, develop recreational facilities, construct septic systems for Town facilities and pave certain Town properties?
