NAIS Informational Meeting
Westport and Dartmouth AgComs are co-sponsoring an informational meeting on the controversial proposed National Animal Identification System (NAIS), a system by which livestock will be tracked in case of disease outbreak.
The discussion is to be held Monday December 11 at 7 pm at the Dartmouth Grange, 1103 Fisher Road.
The speakers are Michael Cahill, Animal Health Representative at the Massachusetts Department of Agriculture Resources (MDAR) and Jack Kittredge of Many Hands Organic Farm, Barre, MA and Social Action Coordinator for the Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA/Mass).
Dartmouth and Westport residents who own livestock are encouraged to attend.
