First Annual Westport Conservation Commission Roadside Rubbish Removal Day
The Westport Conservation Commission in cooperation with the Westport Highway Department has scheduled a roadside trash pickup for Saturday April 19th 10AM with rain date Saturday April 26th 10AM. Anyone wishing to help in this endeavor is encouraged to meet at the Westport Town Hall Annex 856 Main Road for street assignment. Black trash bags will be supplied by the Highway Department. The trash bags will also be available from the Conservation Commission office prior to April 19th.
Please bring some sturdy gloves to wear for picking up street litter. Designated streets to include; Adamsville Road, Briggs Road, Blossom Road, Charlotte White Road, Davis Road, Drift Road, East Beach Road, Gifford Road, Hix Bridge Road. Horseneck Road, Main Road, Old Bedford Road, Old County Road, Pine Hill Road, Reed Road, Sanford Road, Sodom Road, and Tickle Road. So many of our town’s streets are in need of a cleanup from the paper and plastic containers, food wrappers, bottles, cans, and other litter. Neighbors are encouraged to pickup their roadside areas that may include vacant lots and wooded spaces and to please use black plastic bags per dump requirements. The Highway Department will pickup filled trash bags.
