The Westport Permanent Firefighters Local 1802 wish to announce the Fourth of July Parade, scheduled for Friday, July 4^th this year. The Parade route will start at the corner of Main Rd. and Hixbridge Rd. and proceed north on Main Rd. to Charlotte White Rd. From there it will proceed west to Sodom Rd. then north on Sodom Rd. ending at the Holy Ghost Grounds.

The parade steps off at 10 AM and ends at the Holy Ghost at about 12 Noon where trophies and cash prizes will be handed out for 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place floats and a trophy for “best antique”.  

Anyone wishing to participate please arrive well before 10 AM for line up. Firefighters will be available to direct participants on where to line up.

Please make arrangements for pickup of participants from the Holy Ghost Grounds and please be careful of garbage, candy wrappers or other discarded materials from being left at the grounds or along the parade route.

Any marching units entered in the parade must make arrangements to keep up with the parade route in a timely fashion. This is to eliminate large gaps during the parade.

Solicitations for charity are only allowed for the Firefighters for Muscular Dystrophy Association, as this is a charity deeply seated in firefighter tradition. It is not the intent of the parade to solicit multiple charities as it may take away the true spirit and reasons for the parade.

It is the intention of the firefighters in Westport to show gratitude to a supportive community. We are honored for this opportunity to donate time to our grateful community. This Parade is a family event and we wish all who attend be respectful to observers as well as participants. Please be careful especially with small children on the route and enjoy the event.
