The Town of Westport, MA. invites sealed bids from qualified vendors capable of supplying approximately 1000 tons of Rock Salt for the Westport Highway Department in accordance with the specifications made available at the Westport Highway Department, 820 Main Road, Westport, MA, 02790; between the hours of 7:30am and 3:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Bids will be received at the Westport Highway Department, 820 Main Road, Westport, MA 02790, until October 30, 2009 at 1:00pm; at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The Town reserves the right to waive any informalities in bidding procedure, to cancel this Invitation for Bids, or to reject any and all bids, in whole or in part, if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Town. The contract for this bid may be awarded to other than the low bidder.

The Town of Westport encourages Women and Minority owned businesses to submit proposals.

No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for a period of at least 60 days after the day and date set for the receipt of bids.

Each bid shall be submitted in a sealed envelope with the following marked on the outside: BID FOR: “ROCK SALT”.
