COA - Volunteer Coordinator Position

 
TOWN OF WESTPORT, MA
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
COUNCIL ON AGING

Associate Degree in Human Services or comparable experience in program organization and management. Knowledge of elder needs and resources for volunteers. Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others. Leadership skills, ability to self start, multi-task, train others, delegate tasks, assess others, and good computer skills. VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR - COUNCIL ON AGING

Definition
Supervisory work, including planning, recruitment, interviewing/screening, orientation/training, motivation/recognition and evaluation of volunteers

Supervision
Works under the policy and supervision of the Council on Aging and the C.O.A. Director, in cooperation with the Outreach Worker, in conformity with controlling local and state regulations.

Job Environment
Performs varied and responsible duties requiring confidentiality, report writing and independent judgement to plan and coordinate volunteers in a multi-faceted program.

Errors could result in personal injury, property damages and monetary loss

Essential Functions

Works with the Council on Aging and the C.O.A. Director and Outreach Worker to define goals for the Volunteer Program.  Designs volunteer assignments, conducts necessary training and schedules assignments.  Plans recruitment strategies; conducts interviews; develops and implements volunteer orientation plan; designs and implements record-keeping system for volunteer activities.  Designs and executes regularly scheduled volunteer recognition and evaluates the impact of volunteer services.  Conducts individual performance reviews of volunteers.

Recommended Minimum Qualifications


Education and Experience

Associate Degree in Human Services or comparable experience in program organization and management.
